Jovie Jade and the Monster Under Her Bed

This past week I was privileged to be a part of Nevada Reading Week and present my newest book to thousands of students across the state. Jovie Jade and the Monster Under Her bed is now available on Amazon (click here to find it). I started this book when my oldest daughter, Jovie, was about 2. I imagined her growing up and having to deal with the absurd amount of scary things that exist in this world and I wanted to give her something to help guide her through that mess. So let this book stand as a testament to how much I love her. She is a wonderful girl who amazes me every day with her bravery, creativity, and beauty. She is adorable, but I mean the kind of beauty that runs deeper, the kind of beauty that really leaves a mark on the world and changes everyone it comes in contact with. Her beauty runs so deep that I am humbled to be her father; I have no idea how I had a hand in raising someone as magnificent as Jovie.

The book itself addresses children facing their fears and learning that being afraid is the only way that we can be brave. It is written for young elementary school students (first to second grade) but has lessons for all ages.
